We’ll ask questions to evaluate your home for qualities like shade cover to make sure solar panels will be a good fit based on your property. If qualified, we’ll then schedule a free in-home consultation.

Step

In-Home Consultation

One of our consultants will head out to your home for further evaluations. In addition to looking over your property, we’ll also take electric bills into account when deciding what size solar system will suit your home. From this information, we can deliver a customized proposal created to match your home’s specific energy needs. After you sign, we’ll get to work preparing for installation day.

Step

Solar Installation

Once installation day arrives, our team will carefully install your solar panels. This process should be quick, only lasting a day or two. After completion, we’ll test your system and clean up our workspace. Once an inspection is passed, the only step left is for your utility provider to swap out your meter!

Solar Panel Installation FAQs

How much does it cost to install solar panels in Detroit?

Pink Energy’s solar panel systems are not one size fits all. We create custom solar systems for each customer’s unique energy needs. As such, it’s hard to give an estimate of what your solar panel installation could cost. However, generally the price will depend on your home’s current energy needs, what direction your home faces and how much sunlight your roof receives in addition to other such factors.

Can I install solar panels myself?

It’s possible to do, but we do not recommend it. Pink Energy’s qualified installation teams have the experience needed to ensure your panels are installed properly and in the best position to gather sunlight.

How long does it take to install solar panels?

Our installation team only takes a day or two to have your solar panels up and running. It’s a quick process!

Do I need permission to install solar panels in Detroit?

Yes, some permits are required to install solar panels. It’s likely your local government has some requirements in place before installation occurs. Pink Energy’s experts will help you with the majority of the permits as part of the installation process.

Does installing solar panels void your roof warranty?

In nearly all cases, your roof warranty should remain intact. As long as the installation team did their job right (and our teams are experts), you shouldn’t have any problems with your roof’s warranty. We recommend that you should always double-check with your roof’s manufacturer or installer to confirm.

What permits do I need to install solar panels in Detroit?

Permits needed to install solar panels vary by your own local government’s mandates. Your local government and local utility companies likely have specific requirements in place to satisfy local building and electrical codes. As a general rule, you can expect to have to file for a building permit, an electrical permit and possibly a solar photovoltaic (PV) permit.

Can my HOA stop me from installing solar panels in Detroit?

This varies by neighborhood. However, you can expect to face some pushback from your HOA if your solar panels will face public spaces, such as an HOA-maintained park or road. Pink Energy will work with you to ensure that your solar panels are up to code and satisfy HOA requirements if at all possible!

Can solar panels be installed on a metal roof?

Absolutely! Metal roofs offer a stable surface for solar panel installation, so there should be no problem in having both.
